What Are The Best Medicines For Menstrual Cramps

By: Thulas Sukati

The menopause can be a trying time for most women as so many areas of their body's seems to be causing them physical and emotional distress. Some women only start to really suffer with menstrual cramps (the bane of many women) when they enter their menopause. It may be that you have endometriosis, possibly even PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and that you will suffer more than most other women. There are a few women that seem to suffer no pain at all, whereas many have them so bad they can barely get out of bed for days during their cycle.

Relief from this pain is something many women search for but it needs to be consistent. Pain relief pills seem to be the most prescribed option amongst women. You can try any pain relief remedy and they should work but many women swear by Pamprin which was designed just for this reason. Many women won't take any form of pain relief but if you are one of those women maybe it is time you started to think about it.

Perhaps you feel that you're meant to experience this stomach pain but that isn't the case. What's worse is that you may have more than just the cramps to contend with, you may experience a bloated feeling and nausea too. I just didn't want to continue enduring the pains almost every month so I started looking around for menstrual cramp relief remedies. There were times I thought my stomach was being crushed while others there was little discomfort at all!

Heat pads can work quite well but you may find you have to experiment where it is placed for it to bring some relief. Many women that try this method are those that just prefer not to take any form of oral medication. For women that have menstrual cramps that pretty much disable them completely, they may want to find something stronger. Of course, this is more likely if you have to call in sick each month because the stomach pains are so intense.

Of course you could try speaking to your doctor to see what thoughts he or she has on menstrual cramp relief remedies, especially if it causing you problems in addition to pain. They may have options you have not considered, so if you aren't currently on the Pill, this may be something you want to try because for many women, being on the Pill reduces or even eliminates their cramps. The discomfort you feel from your cramps might be a long term problem if you have planned to get pregnant but if this isn't the case then your doctor should be able to advise you if you are in any danger while on the Pill. Good luck with your search for a way to ease those regular painful cramps.
