Ideas pop into our minds at what often seem to be the most inconvenient of moments. It could be while you are driving down the highway, getting into the shower in the morning, or just shopping at the grocery store. You have to write down those fleeting ideas before they escape your memory. Desperation, however, usually creeps up on you after you have been sitting in front of the computer, racking your brain for hours, trying to come up with at least one, little measly idea. However, there are techniques you can use to find your inspiration and avoid desperation. You can increase the odds that you will be inspired if you 'put on your thinking cap,' so to speak. For some people, this expression is quite literal. For most individuals, though, it means that you need to figure out how to get yourself into inspirational moments. Find Your Personal Thinking Cap Ask yourself: Do I need to be alone in a quiet place in order to come up with ideas, or do I do better in a crowded, noisy area? Is my inspiration more likely to arrive early in the morning or late at night while I burn the midnight oil? Does sitting by a window inspire me as I watch the goings on outside or does it just distract me? If you are feeling desperate for some inspiration, you would surely be benefited by taking a little while to stop concentrating so much on the task at hand and start thinking about or doing something else. That lets your mind relax and leaves you more inspiration prone when you go back to work. You can also avoid desperation by asking for support. Ask a friend, mentor, or your spouse to take a look at what you have been working on and see if they can offer any suggestions. Once you start talking to someone else about your project, more ideas will start to flow.
