Almost every resident of a house has a residential mailbox. These mailboxes might not be of same kind for everybody, but they have their own letter boxes. Provision of such mailboxes makes it easier for postal carriers to deliver their mails safely. When people did not have their individual mailboxes, people had to stay at home to receive their mail. They had to carry their mail to the post office personally. This was inconvenient to most of the people. When you have your own Residential Mailboxes, all you have to stick your mil in it and put the small red flag up. When the mailman comes, he notices the red flag and takes your mail from the mailbox and also delivers your mail in the mailbox. Provision of such residential mailboxes makes the task of the postman easier and the house owner receives the mail safely. Such a mailbox protects your mail from theft as well as protects against such natural elements like rain and snow. As a house owner, you have the responsibility of providing a residential mailbox. Some of these mailboxes might be placed on the house while some of them are placed on the curb. Mailbox placement is not the same on each road. On some streets they cold be placed on both sides of the street while in some other streets, they have to be placed on a particular side of the road. Therefore, the house owner will have to place their mailbox accordingly. While installing the residential mailbox, certain specifications are to be adhered to. One standard rule would be about the height of the mailbox. Curbside mailboxes are generally placed at a height between 42 inches to 46 inches from the curb. Placing the mailbox at such a height makes it convenient for a mail truck to have easy access to the mailbox. The house owner has also to ensure that the address of the residence is written on the flag side of the mailbox and the lettering should be big enough to make it easy to read. Generally, one inch numbers are used for writing address. The house owner would also have to ensure that there is no obstruction, such as a parked car, to reach the mailbox. Otherwise, the mail would not be delivered on that day. For people living in apartments, they do not have their residential mailboxes outside their house. Instead, a separate mailbox for apartment owner is provided in a common area, usually in the ground floor. These mailboxes have their individual lock and key to provide safety and privacy to the house owner. But, outgoing mail is not collected from these mailboxes. Mot apartments have a place where you can put all your outgoing mail that gets collected by the postman when he comes to deliver mails. Therefore, provision of a residential mailbox is definitely advantageous to every house owner.
