Six Steps to the Best Research Paper Format

By: Oliver768

Introduction
Format of a research can be a difficult job if not done properly. Students and professionals alike worry a lot about the context and format of their research. The aim is to present it in its optimal condition with everything crystal clear for the reader. Diverse papers involve different approaches. However the 6 step approach is not only one of the most basic approaches but also the most efficient. It is the most basic structure that serves its purpose and can easily be changed or edited.

Discussion
Regardless of the topic or subject, the 6 step approach is always the most conservative yet reliable approach to writing and formatting research papers. The format has the following 6 parts.
1. Title
2. Abstract
3. Introduction
4. Discussion
5. Conclusion
6. Bibliography

These 6 steps will serve as the backbone of the format upon which all the research will be placed and edited to become the final format. This format acts like a mould for the already completed research to give it a completely professional and presentable look.

1 – Title
The purpose of the title is to give information about the student/professional. With name, name of the course, teacher/tutors name and the submission date of the research paper.

2 - Abstract
The abstract is the essence of the paper and it tells the reader what exactly they are about to engage in when they will study this research paper. The abstract gives out the entire heart and core of the paper to the reader.

3 – Introduction
The purpose of the introduction is to bring about the thesis statement or the core of the discussion that is being discussed in this paper. Using facts, illustrations or examples in the introduction keeps the introduction interesting for the reader and makes it easier to grab the reader’s attention.

4 – Discussion
The discussion of the paper is collectively known as the body of the paper. This discussion is in fact the entire scenario of the paper in complete and concrete detail. All the ideas and support for the argument goes into this part of the paper. This part however is also the longest part of the paper.

5 – Conclusion
The conclusion presents the verdict and end-point of the research. It concludes all the facts, figures and illustrations. The entire paper is summarized in this part of the research paper writing with all the possible ideas, actions and suggestions.

6 – Bibliography
Bibliography is very important to any research report. It’s not only the validation for everything you’ve done but a thorough and well-researched bibliography shows how far the student/professional conducted the research. It is the list of works that have referenced through out this research paper. Without a complete bibliography the research paper looks like a void.

Conclusion
In some scenarios, after the bibliography, tables and charts can be added for additional points and information. Although this is completely optional but this one step can enhance the overall impact of your research paper and make it appear a concrete piece of research.
