If you have high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes at the same time, you may also benefit from taking coenzyme Q 10. Garlic is another way to beneficially lower systolic blood pressure. However, you have to reduce or cease taking garlic or garlic supplements altogether if you are about to undergo surgery. In addition, you should not consume garlic for a period of time after surgery is complete. In other cases, though, garlic can greatly help with blood pressure levels. That said, though, it can also interact negatively with certain medications and should be checked with your doctor. You may need to avoid it when you take medications such as Trental or Coumadin. Herbal supplements, too, can help lower your blood pressure. Hawthorn is one of these. It greatly reduces diastolic where pressure levels, and there are no purported drug interactions thus far with hawthorn. Another beneficial supplement is fish oil. DHA is an important supplement for brain health, and fish oil is a major source. You can also eat a lot of fish, but the capsules are good substitute if you don't like fish. Again, fish oil is contraindicated in certain cases, so check with your doctor before you take it. There are many natural ways you can reduce your blood pressure. These ways include maintaining a healthy diet on a daily basis. You should have a normal exercise routine. Exercise helps improve circulation and lower your circulation. You can also take natural supplements that are designed to help lower your blood pressure levels. You don't have to take medications for lowering cholesterol. You can lower your cholesterol yourself by paying attention to how healthy you are. Maintaining a healthy level of cholesterol can be accomplished with some effort, but you can do it.
