Menstrual Cramps : Remedies For Menstrual Cramps

By: Ray Lam

As a woman reaches that difficult stage in her life she may be forgiven in believing that her body is out to get her. If it is not the night sweats it is the mood swings and not to mention menstrual cramps. If you have endometriosis, or PCOS (which affects around 10 percent of women) you may get these worse than other women. There are a few women that seem to suffer no pain at all, whereas many have them so bad they can barely get out of bed for days during their cycle.

Whilst a number of remedies available claim they will give menstrual cramp relief, it is the reliability of these drugs that often causes a problem. Most women rely on taking a pill during this time which also seems the most obvious answer. You can try any pain relief remedy and they should work but many women swear by Pamprin which was designed just for this reason. Many women won't take any form of pain relief but if you are one of those women maybe it is time you started to think about it.

Perhaps you feel that you're meant to experience this stomach pain but that isn't the case. To make matters worse, the cramps are only part of the problem if you are one of those individuals who also has to put up with nausea and a constant bloated feeling. On a personal level, I was just tired of the cramping pains and decided to source an effective menstrual cramp relief solution. There were times I thought my stomach was being crushed whilst others there was little discomfort at all!

A more natural method is to use a heat pad and position it on the tummy or back (it does vary), which can bring some relief. Many women that try this method are those that just prefer not to take any form of oral medication. For women that have menstrual cramps that pretty much disable them completely, they may want to find something stronger. The problem really arises when time has to be taken form work; no employer likes this every month.

If this has happened to you, you should make an appointment to talk to your doctor about finding menstrual cramp relief. Your doctor may suggest using the contraceptive pill because he knows just how good it is at helping women who suffer each month with stomach cramps. If you are trying to get pregnant this will obviously be out of the question but this is not the only remedy your doctor will discuss with you. Good luck with your search for a way to ease those regular painful cramps.
