They tend to be tile in one form or another, which is another way of saying tile roofs last. Most manufacturers will warrant them for 40 to 50 years. Ah, but what about protecting your home? Well, tile roofs rarely burn. In fact, many communities in Southern California now require all new homes to be built with some type of tile roof. The fires that pop up every few years have taught some hard lessons. Most homes are built with roofs that are not intended to last as long as the home. If you are in such a home and your roof is failing, a tile roof is really your best option.
