Just because a drink says "juice" doesn't mean it is healthy. Many juice drinks aren't even juice at all and are full of sugar, just as sodas are. You have to be selective if you want to choose the healthy things for your kids to drink. The problem with many drinks your kids chose to drink aren't only full of sugar, but they also don't have the nutritional value your kids need for healthy development and growth. There are good and healthy choices for your kids and here I will explain those to you. The most essential and most important drink your children need is water. Unfortunately, most do not get even half of the basic needs their bodies require, due to the unlimited variety of other beverages to offer from. Having plenty of fresh water available is one way to make sure your child has the option to drink this healthy liquid. If your child doesn't like the taste of plain water, you can try squeezing some lemon juice or limejuice into the water to give it flavor. Serving water very cold also can make it more favorable for your child. Don't be fooled by the so called flavored waters on the market; they may not have as many calories as other drinks, but they lack the essential vitamins your children need. Good ole tap water is till your best bet. The preconception of allowing children to drink juices is that they will become overweight; this just isn't true. Even if they drink a lot of juice, studies indicate that they will not become overweight as adults. While your child should get most of his hydration from water, it's okay to have a few servings of fruit juice every day. However, make sure that you're giving your child 100% juice. Many beverages claim to be fruit drinks, but have as little as 2% actual fruit juice and are filled with sugar and corn syrup instead. Last, but certainly not least importantly, is milk; you child needs a proper amount of milk daily to maintain healthy teeth and bones. Milk is a great source of calcium and if you must, I live "Ovaline" in my mile; it adds flavor as well as vitamins and minerals.
