Did Jewel Have Plastic Surgery On Her Nose

By: Thulas Sukati

The term used in plastic surgery for procedures carried out on the nose is called Rhinoplasty. Plastic surgeons can re-shape most parts of the body, not just the nose but the tummy, bottom and breasts. There are three areas which seem to becoming more popular over recent years and they are eyelids, liposuction and procedures to adjust the shape of the nose.

It is necessary to peel the skin away from the nose so the adjustments can be made to the bone and cartilage in a Rhinoplasty procedure. The plastic surgeon has more that one method available to him to re-shape the nose. An example of one of those methods is where skin is removed from the back of the arm and replaces the skin removed from the nose by suturing it into place. If there is serious damage to the nose cartilage then Rhinoplasty is considered and used for re-constructive surgery.

The top five procedures asked by men in 2005 were nose reshaping, transplant of hair, eyelid surgery, liposuction and breast reduction. Whether your nose was broken and left crooked, or you just aren't happy with the way your nose is, you can safely and now realistically alter the way that it looks. Men are quickly catching women up with the number and range of cosmetic procedures available to them.

Equally important to your decision to have nose re-shaping is the surgeon who is going to perform the procedure; that he has a good grasp of aesthetics and that he is a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. In addition, the Rhinoplasty procedure should be performed with minimal surgical trauma to the nose, with no external incisions and match and blend all facial features to look very natural and un-operated. Other important considerations are to cause minimal pain and discomfort to the patient, and be performed under the highest standards of safety.

It's not just adults that are having re-constructive surgery either as increasing numbers of teenagers have cosmetic work carried out to improve their looks by having a nose job or breast enlargement. Work on the nose might include, making it longer, shorter, straightening it or even removing any lumps.

Often a person will have their chin re-shaped which will change the look of their haw line and nose. People who have small or receding chins will understand this because this facial condition will automatically make the nose look larger, a situation which could be made worse if they already have a larger nose. In fact, chin and nose surgeries are commonly performed in a complimentary fashion, in order to balance the patient's features, and release their true beauty.

It is good to be aware that these procedures do not always make you a more attractive person. A big reason for have nose re-shaping is the perception by the patient that their nose is too big or ugly. For others, the reason for nose reconstruction is a medical one, especially if the are having problems breathing after a broken nose. Nose jobs can offer real health benefits in addition to improving the symmetry of the face.
