Some of the main causes are as following : Lack of requirement analysis : If the requirements of the novel system are not cleared with the recruits, then how can be project successful? Data system should focus on requirements for security, availability and recoverability of data. The system must be able to differentiate between significant and insignificant data. Lack of expertise in assorted storage environment : this can be another reason for the failure of data migration. No doubt an expert can understand the system well and reply the queries like compatibility of the innovative and old system, storage technology used, detail study of the product etc. In case an organization is lack of an expertise, then the project will definitely go into chaos. Financial problems : Sometimes a rigid budget can limit the expansion of technology. No organization can perform well in absence of financial backbone. Lack of capital is a gigantic constraint in the development of technology. Lack of a good replacement platform : A platform is the base through which the migration takes place. If the carrier of a very important data is not secured or reliable, then there may be a chance for data loss during the relocation of data.
