In 2006 in the United States there were more than six million automobile accidents, the approximated costs of these automobile accidents were perceived to be more than 230 billion dollars. With the population of the United States growing rapidly more people have taken to the road. Statistics from the National Safety Council state that the odds of dying in an automobile accident during your life are roughly about one in 83. This statistic does not take into account the possibility that the automobile that you may be driving may have defects or be poorly made which would make this likelihood even higher. Automobile manufacturers today are putting their profits ahead of the safety of their consumers by allowing automobiles to be driven that have defects. These money hungry automobile manufactures have become so obsessed with the size of their wallets they have forgotten what is important to their consumers which is driving a safe car. They have compromised the safety of their consumers in order to make a larger profit. If you were in an automobile accident because of a defect in the automobile contact Marc J. Bern and file a wrongful death lawsuit. A wrongful death suit is a lawsuit one can file when a loved one is killed as the result of someone else’s negligent, or reckless act. Filing a lawsuit with Marc J. Bern can get you the compensation you deserve for the thoughtless and reckless acts of others. All you have to do is show that someone acted in a negligent manner and as a result the life of your loved one was taken. In order to be compensated in a wrongful death lawsuit you have to be a child, parent, or spouse of the person who was killed. You can also be compensated if you are a personal representative of the person who was killed. This would mean that you were in charge of all of the decisions for that person because for one reason or another, and that the other person was legitimately incapable of making their own decisions. In a wrongful death lawsuit you may be able to file for many different reasons, but some of the most common lawsuits are for personal injuries, pain, suffering, medical costs, and even the loss of future earnings. In the beginning of September a wrongful death suit was brought up against Subaru of America for allowing a car to be driven that had defects. These defects were what cost this woman her life. The lawsuit states that the cause of death was a poorly manufactured restraint system and insufficient lateral and roll stability when the defective systems failed to work when the Subaru Forester she was driving careened across interstate I-40 in San Bernardino County in California. The Subaru Forester flipped over twice and landed on the roof of the car. Sometime during the accident the woman was catapulted through the windshield of the car as a result of the faulty restraint system. Her daughter who was also in the car was uninjured. Don’t allow automobile manufacturers to continue producing cars that are defective.
