Far far away in the hillsides of Japan a child was born in a humble village of Sonobe now Nantan an inventor by the name of
SHIGERU MIYAMOTO. He was born on November 16th 1952, he loved to draw and paint and explore caves and lakes that
surrounded his home. THE LEGEND OF ZELDA was an inspiration from his childhood, he was menaced by a neighbor's dog
who was kept at bay by a chain attached to a post thus we have CHAIN CHOMP the enemy of the MARIO series.
SHIGERU was 24 when he first met YAMAUCHI ( the president of NINTENDO) and was asked to return with idea's for toys.
MIYAMOTO returned with many idea's and his portfolio that landed him a post as NINTENDO'S first staff artist.
In 1980 YAMAUCHI told MIYAMOTO he wanted a video game made, and the first of those video games was DONKEY KONG
which marked the birth of MARIO


MIYAMOTO has received many awards recognising his achievements in the video game industry.
His video games have consistantly sold out around the world edging out Microsoft and Sony.
NINTENDO is ranked as one of the top companies in JAPAN.
The visual effects and graphics are getting more sophisticated and we now have more than just MARIO, we have WiiFIT for example
not only benefits the young but the older generation too, keeping people active and fit.
BOWLING, Wii MUSIC, and many more.
Because of his inspirations we will continue to be entertained by this man and his child like sense of wonder for many years to come.
